Facilitator

A spiritually prepared individual trained within a traditional lineage (at ECC, the Shipibo lineage) who holds the ceremonial container, sings icaros, and leads the ceremonial arc — offering spiritual guidance and ceremonial leadership as an expression of that lineage training.

A facilitator is the spiritually prepared individual who leads sacred ceremony at Earth Connection Community. Facilitators are trained within a traditional lineage — at ECC, the Shipibo curanderismo tradition of the Peruvian Amazon — through years of direct apprenticeship under a maestro or lineage holder. This training encompasses the icaros (sacred ceremonial songs), the discipline of the dieta, and the accumulated wisdom of a tradition passed down through direct relationship rather than formal schooling.

During ceremony, a facilitator holds the ceremonial container: they open and close the ceremonial space, sing icaros to guide its arc, and attend to the spiritual needs of each participant present. This is a role of spiritual authority and responsibility: a facilitator offers spiritual guidance and ceremonial leadership, holding sacred space for each participant's experience within ceremony.

ECC facilitators are supported during ceremony by angels, who provide compassionate presence and practical support, and by screening coordinators, whose intake and contraindication screening helps ensure that those who come to ceremony do so with sincere spiritual purpose. A facilitator's authority to lead ceremony rests on the depth of their apprenticeship and their standing within the lineage they were trained in, not on any secular credential.
