Sacred Space

A physical environment intentionally prepared and held for spiritual purposes — cleared of ordinary distraction, consecrated through prayer and ritual, and maintained as a container for the ceremonial work.

Sacred Space refers to any environment — most often the maloca, but also the broader retreat center grounds — that has been intentionally prepared and set apart for spiritual purposes. Preparation may include prayer, blessing, and traditional purification practices drawn from the Shipibo curanderismo lineage, along with the physical arrangement of the mesa and ceremony circle.

Once consecrated, a sacred space is treated with particular care and reverence for the duration of the retreat: it is where facilitators and angels hold ceremony, where participants do their spiritual work, and where the community gathers to pray, share, and rest together.
