Spiritual Awakening

A shift in the depth of one's relationship with the sacred — an opening of spiritual perception, an encounter with the divine, or a recognition of the interconnectedness of all life.

Spiritual Awakening describes a shift in the depth of one's relationship with the sacred — an opening of spiritual perception, a direct encounter with the divine, or a renewed recognition of the interconnectedness of all life. It is one of the central purposes for which participants come to Earth Connection Community's ceremonies: sincere spiritual seeking, not entertainment or recreation.

Spiritual awakening can arrive gradually, through a lifetime of practice and prayer, or suddenly, in the midst of a single ceremony — a moment in which a participant's understanding of themselves, the divine, and the natural world is reordered. Within the Shipibo curanderismo tradition from which ECC's lineage descends, ayahuasca has long served as a sacrament through which such awakenings are sought. ECC does not guarantee a spiritual awakening to any individual participant; ceremony is offered as a sincere religious practice, and what arises within it belongs to the participant's own spiritual journey.
